The Wolf-Man

Wow, has it really been that long since I have posted on here? Thankfully, the old blog is just the same as I've left it... and I'll be posting a lot more again in 2017.

Anyhow, to start things rolling again... he's a recent sketch of one of my all-time favourites. I'm a huge fan of the classic, Universal Monsters (drawing them would be my dream comic-book job), and one of my favourites is the poor tortured, tormented Lawrence Talbot, aka the Wolf-Man (as portrayed by the wonderful Lon Chaney Jr.). Here he is, suffering the tortures of the damned once more. After all... even a man who is pure at heart, and says his prayers by night - may become a Wolf when the Wolfbane blooms, and the moon is full and bright...

"Who shall be worthy?"

Just for fun... this is a homage piece from a feature that appeared in Marvel Comic's Mighty Thor #400 (written by Tom DeFalco with art by Ron Frenz and Brett Breeding). These are the characters that I feel could lift Mjolnir (of course, we've already seen Superman lift the hammer in the classic Avengers/JLA crossover).

I hope you enjoy this... my money is on my good friend Mr. Jon Mikl-Thor...

Masters of the Universe

I have always been a fan of the Masters of the Universe (especially the more Barbarian style He-Man from the original DC mini-comics), so thought I'd have a go at drawing him.

Welcome... to Fright Night!

Here's one of my all-time favourite actors as one of my favourite horror film characters... the late, great Roddy McDowall as Peter Vincent, the "fearless vampire hunter" from the classic 1985 horror film Fright Night.

Leonard Nimoy (1931 - 2015)

The great Leonard Nimoy, known to millions of fans across the world as the legendary Mr. Spock from the classic TV series STAR TREK passed away yesterday at the age of 83. Both Leonard and his character of Spock were life-long favourites of mine... plus he was of course the voice of Galvatron in the 1986 TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE

Rest in peace sir... and may your journey into the final frontier be a peaceful one.

The Amazing Spider-man

Here's another digi-painting of the Amazing Spider-man... again, based on the classic TV series starring Nicholas Hammond. This pic was pure experimentation... I incorporated the previous Spidey/Nicholas Hammond image into this, to give it more of a poster feeling. I'm really proud of how it's turned out.

Plus, this just happened:

Thank you for the kind words, Nicholas... you are the (Spider-)MAN!
